Koveron Kirppis & Majatalo, located in the village of Kovero within the Joensuu/Ilomantsi region of Eastern Finland, is a charming rural destination that combines a guest house with a local flea market. Housed in a former school building dating back to 1930, the property offers cozy, apartment-style accommodations including units with private saunas and kitchenettes. While the dedicated indoor flea market (“kirppis”) that began in 2015 was scaled back or closed around 2020, the site remains a cultural hub, occasionally hosting summer flea markets in the neighboring Runoriihi barn. Guests can enjoy authentic Finnish countryside experiences such as an outdoor laavu (lean-to) with a campfire, a private beach with a rowing boat on Lake Koverojärvi, and a historical “field hospital” museum exhibit in the old barn.
